I'm Not Dead Yet

So goes a famous line from my son's favorite movie, Monty Python's "Quest for the Holy Grail" (I'm sure he'll grow out of it). I realize that I've missed my last three posting slots and thought I'd explain.
Our family of six went on an extended vacation to the northwest and visited the Bitterroot valley as well as three national parks; Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton. I had fully intended to post a couple articles from the road, but my laptop died on the plane ride out. As we travelled, I also realized that I had no cell phone coverage (except downtown Hamilton, MO and the Old Faithful area in Yellowstone).
This would have been a disasterous business trip, but as it turned out, it was a wonderful way to have a vacation ... this is the first vacation we've taken in ten years that I haven't worked a couple hours in the early morning of each day before the rest of the family woke up. After a couple of purely technology free weeks, I feel completely refreshed (mentally and emotionally anyway ... we were physically exhausted at the end of most days). I think I've learned a lesson.
Almost all my extra time (I'm still an early riser) was spent reading and writing on paper (gasp). One of the books I read that may be of interest to this group was "Pro JSF and AJAX - Building Rich Internet Components" by Jonas Jacobi and John R. Fallows, which describes methods for creating AJAX enabled JSF components. If anyone would like me to write a book review, please leave a comment to that affect.
So I'm back ... and I promise it won't be three weeks until my next post:)
